The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) is conducting an ICD-10 implementation status survey through November 1.
The survey includes different questions for:
- Health plans
- Providers
- Vendors or clearinghouses
WEDI conducted a previous readiness survey in February. In a letter to CMS, WEDI stated that based on the results of the survey, the healthcare industry’s ICD-10 implementation efforts were behind schedule.
It also found that health plans and providers had pushed back testing timelines. In fact, more than half of the vendors stated they were not even halfway through their implementation plans. More than 40% of providers didn’t know when they’d complete their assessments and begin external testing.
